Abstract
This article examines the persistent problem of developing communicative competence in English grammar, despite students' theoretical knowledge of grammatical rules. The study examines modern pedagogical approaches to teaching grammar and develops a system for its implementation in secondary education. Through mixed methodological studies, including literature analysis, case studies, and teacher surveys (n=50), the study demonstrates the effectiveness of communicative (CLT), task-based (TBLT), and technological approaches in increasing student engagement and language learning. The main obstacles to implementation were identified as curriculum limitations (82% of respondents), insufficient teacher qualifications (76%), and large class sizes (90%). The study proposes a model of "principal eclecticism," ensuring a flexible integration of innovative and traditional methodologies. The results show that effective modernization of grammar teaching requires the systematic implementation of the proposed system, supported by the improvement of teacher development programs and curricula.
