Abstract

In the early Middle Ages, the territory of Tokharistan was of great cultural and economic importance. The art of handicrafts was highly developed in this region, and its various branches - ceramics, weaving, metalworking (weaponry), glassmaking and many other crafts - played an important role in the life of the local population. Tokharistan handicrafts are distinguished by their unique style, technical achievements and beautiful decorations. In this article, we will talk about the main directions of the development of handicrafts in Tokharistan in the early Middle Ages, the factors under which it was formed, and its regional and cultural significance.
