Abstract
This article explores the transformative role of digital technology in advancing the green economy. It examines how emerging tools such as the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), block chain, and digital twins are reshaping sectors from energy and agriculture to industry and finance. The analysis highlights how digital solutions improve efficiency, enable real-time resource management, and support circular economy models, while also identifying key risks such as increased energy demand from data centers and growing e-waste. By integrating sustainability into digital innovation strategies, policymakers and industries can leverage digitalization to accelerate decarbonisation and inclusive green growth. The article concludes that while digitalization is not inherently sustainable, it can be a powerful enabler of ecological transformation—if directed wisely through sound governance and equitable access.
