Abstract
This article explores the historical and cultural heritage sites of the Khorezm region and their impact on local tourism development. By examining notable landmarks such as the ancient city of Khiva, Itchan Kala (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), and other key architectural and archaeological sites, the study highlights how these heritage locations contribute to attracting both domestic and international tourists. The research also considers the preservation and promotion strategies that have been implemented in the region, emphasizing the balance between conserving cultural assets and fostering sustainable tourism growth. The findings suggest that Khorezm’s rich historical and cultural landscape plays a critical role in enhancing the region’s economic vitality and cultural exchange. Ultimately, the article underscores the importance of integrating heritage preservation into broader tourism development plans to ensure long-term benefits for both local communities and visitors.
